Special LOVE notes for Jerry Candelaria
from
Deirdre, Jeremy and Caleb

hAPpy FaTHer's dAy!

Jerry,

LOVE OF MY LIFE! Father to our children. I absolutely adore you and am the luckiest woman in the world to have your heart forever. Thank you for the father you are to Jeremy and Caleb. For teaching them what it is to be a man in this world. For teaching them about love, passion, responsibility, exploration and expression. For taking care of us so I can stay home. For working hard for the future of our family.

I love you...
Deirdre

Dad,

I'm going to tell you on Father's Day everything I think, and I love, and I think about you. You...you...you, you, you, you. I love you. You're the best daddy in the whole wide world. Because you are my daddy. And on father's day I'm going to tell you things you won't believe.

Love, Jeremy

From Nomi for her dad

Dad,

I know you still watch over me.....as you always have. I am sorry I broke your heart.....by following your early teachings and example, when your fears stopped you from living your truth. I now understand your fears and your desire to protect me from the world.

Thank you for saying that I was too idealistic, sweet and fragile for this world....so that I challenged myself to become strong and savvy.

Thank you for acknowledging my attractiveness and giving me confidence to present myself in the world.

Thank you for always being appropriate with me as a young woman and for being clear, generous and kind with my mother and brother as well.

Thank you for sharing your pride and satisfaction in doing excellent work.

Thank you for teaching me the times tables during our walks to the store.... how to play chess, catch fish, do "Slices" during ping pong, play tennis, cast gold crowns in your dental lab, and......... Especially thanks for teaching me to anticipate your needs when, as a teen, I assisted you as you performed dental surgery.

Thank you for sharing your passion for reading and your global citizenship.

Thank you for being a man who was willing to show when he was moved, laughed heartily, and explored crafts like calligraphy and silk-screen, as well as organic gardening and river stone building construction.

Thank you for your modeling of civic responsibility by sitting on the board of the city hospital and taking a leadership role as President of the temple. I was so proud that you re-wrote the whole curriculum to correspond with the American and world history we were learning in public school.

Thanks for making it your priority to show up for my performances and graduations....and for standing by me, even when my choices differed extremely from your own.

I hold dear my memories of falling asleep to the sound of your chamber music group, (including the nuns from the convent next door), in the living room.... your heartfelt cello practicing for the Oratorio in the Episcopalian church....(even though we were Jewish). I also loved our family days listening to you and the other volunteers practice for the local musical productions at the high school auditorium and the evenings we spent as a family practicing Corelli with Mom on flute, Raphael on clarinet, me on piano, and you on the cello.

You are always in my heart and I cherish your steady presence in my life, even though you have passed on..

Happy Fathers Day,

Nomi

From Jennifer Holmes

In the Noam Chomsky documentary "Power and Terror" the camera does a slow pan across the audience he was speaking to in Berkeley and there we are - me and dad.

My dad is ex military, ex mime, ex macho man with a master's degree in dance from Mills College. My dad started his own religion www.saintstupid.com and has never had a real job. My dad is funny, angry and bemused. He's just like his dad - in a polish, working class way. He's Homer Simpson and Abby Hoffman - with a dash of Alan Watts. My dad is my karma - and I am his.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR

Steve -

THANK YOU! for your incredible drumming energy for our big event: IMAGINE back in January. Your drum beat being so vital to the heart and intention of the day was and is so very appreciated by all who attended this glorious day of peace celebration.

Thanks again from your friends at Spiralmuse

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Ben -

Thank you! Thank you! for drumming for our big gg park event: IMAGINE back in January. It was crucial to have the rhythm of the drum accompanying the day's intentions and festivities. It was and is so appreciated by all of us at Spiralmuse and by all who attended.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Tim - A BIG THANKS to you Tim, for bringing your sound system to our big event: IMAGINE, back in January. Your giving of yourself and the loaning of your precious equipment to people you've never even met before is such a heartfelt / selfless act and so very much appreciated by all of us from Spiralmuse. And to boot, your music was truly the icing on the cake! - it was the most special part of it all - it weaved all of our prayerful intentions for the day and was felt by ALL that day! Thank you again for this selfless gift. Much love from your friends at Spiralmuse

***********************

TIM - Music and equipment miracle maker. From our first conversation, I knew you were a partner for SpiralMuse. You brought amazing sounds, drums, and your equipment and were a HUGE YES! Whatever we needed you said YES! It made creating FUN and easy and I thank you for that. AND YOUR MUSIC IS AWESOME! Thanks for participating and bringing your passion to us all.

Rodrigo,

I love looking back at the days when I first met you. You were this generous sweet man who was quiet and reserved. We talked a little, and mostly I saw you at parties. What a difference two years makes! Look at you now. A pillar of the community, suave, powerful...passionate about pleasure...successful...and to top it off, still COMPLETELY generous and compassionate. Now that is the make up of a man who makes an impact in this world. Thank you for sharing your impact and technical mastery with SpiralMuse.

In Gratitude,
Deirdre and the women of SpiralMuse.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Bryan,

Thank you for being our hero and taking on the launch of the website when we needed technical web-savviness. You've been integrous, patient, willing, skillful, creative, a great communicator and wonderful partner. I am excited to see how our partnership grows through the years and know that anything created with you will be a masterpiece.

With love and thanks,
Deirdre and the women of SpiralMuse

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Tony,

You know how much you made a difference for SpiralMuse when you helped us for IMAGINE. I am FOREVER grateful for your help and heart.

Not only did you help with publicity, but you became one of my closest compatriots in renting the truck, getting all the materials, setting up, striking, and keeping me sane the day of the event. You helped make it a day I will NEVER forget.

Thank you TONY! From ALL OF US!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Aron,

THANK YOU for using your wood working, steel bolting magic to make our VERY FIRST SpiralMuse stage. Your specially made, one of a kind, art piece was such a hit at the launch and Imagine, I can see people calling you for more!

You are an amazing man! We love you! **

***********************

My sweet love, You make my heart crack open wider and wider with every touch, every look, every kiss... Your heart makes people sing, melt, celebrate. Your kiss makes my lips quiver, my legs shake, my spine tingle. You are a contribution in so many ways. I am the luckiest girl in the world. You are the man who can do anything, for anyone, and I love sharing you with my sisters and my muses. Your spirit opens people, teaches people, makes people see the beauty of humanity. Your soul reaches out and blesses us with softness, strength, passion, light. Who knew you would shine this brightly? I did. I love you with all my heart, all my soul. You are the one.

Love on father's day and every day for the rest of my life.. Karen

And, THANK YOU for showing up at Imagine and staying with me all night until every material was put back where it belongs. You were one of the best surprises all day long.

Camera men from channel 4 and 5

I don't know your names, but I have to send out a big THANK "YOU" for coming to IMAGINE and take such wonderful footage. Your presence didn't feel intrusive or invading, but felt like a part of the whole and you just melted into the space. Thanks for hanging out and participating with us to get a real look at what was going on that day.

Sincerely
SpiralMuse

DRILLING FOR HOPE
Reprint from "Mothering" Magazine
www.mothering.com

During times in our lives when we feel oppressed or dominated by others, it can be difficult to remain hopeful or to feel powerful. The early days and weeks of motherhood are one of those times. We love the baby madly, but mourn the loss of control over our own lives. In order to regain a semblance of control, we learn new attitudes and habits for tough times. -- More>>
